It's a shame this wasn't filmed, because this is incredible! The whole show is sensational. This is sensational, Jimmy's playing here is some of his best since 1973, and the whole band is locked in. Copenhagen, July 24th - One of my very favorite Zeppelin shows. And Whole Lotta Love is my all time favorite non-medley version(they did it at the second Copenhagen gig too, but I prefer this one) Nobody's Fault but Mine is stellar, with some excellent playing from Jimmy. Ten Years Gone(the last one ever) is excellent, same goes for No Quarter and Trampled Under Foot. Achilles Last Stand is sensational, another one of the best versions ever. Definitely an all time great version, in my top three favorites. Highlights: The highs of this show are arguably the highs of all of 1979 in my opinion. My first ever memory of Zeppelin film is the portions of this from the DVD as well, so for emotional and nostalgic purposes and an excellent performance I have to put this at number two lol. This show starts off a tad erratic, as they're clearly nervous, but it quickly warms up and it turns into an excellent show.

I know some think that the two Copenhagen gigs should be together at the top, however I have a good reason for putting this at number two. Knebworth, August 4th - Some will probably disagree with me on this. Really all of this show is performed very well. Highlights: Kashmir is sensational, same goes for No Quarter and Black Dog. A pleasure to hear, with terrific performances throughout. Jimmy is on fire, and really so is the whole band. Copenhagen, July 23rd - Terrific warmup gig. Highlights: Communication Breakdown is a fine encore.

The rest of the band is clearly tired as well, and while Plant pounds in a good effort, it's clear that they're not feeling it here. If you watch Jimmy throughout this show, he's clearly either high or drunk(he's even drooling at one point!), and this could very well be his all time worst show.

I watched it on YouTube a few months back and while I enjoyed the footage the performance made me cringe at times. The whole thing is proshot, however, YIKES. Knebworth, August 11th - This show is a wreck. From worst to best, incase the Reddit filter comes through.įour. And since there's only four, I figure why not rank them! Here goes. This brings us to a total of four shows, all of which are notable in their own different ways. For those who don't know, Zeppelin played two gigs at the Knebworth festival a week apart from each other, but they also played back to back nights at the Falkoner Theatre in Copenhagen several days prior as warm ups for two of their biggest latter day shows.
